Carol and Willie Fowler do some quick thinking.

A four course dinner for a wedding reception sounds like a great time. What do you do when the wedding gets called off? Carol and Willie Fowler knew exactly what to do!

They ended up feeding 200 homeless people in Atlanta. It was a great day. And keep in mind that 70% of Atlanta’s homeless are children. So, it was a fun day for the kids and it was educational. For example, when presented a plate of hors d’oeuvres. One child wondered if the whole plate was for him? Elizabeth Omilami who is the head of Hosea Feed The Hungry said, “So this was an educational opportunity as well, because now they all know how to eat at a four-course meal and the etiquette involved in that.”

The Fowlers teamed up with Hosea Feed The Hungry, which is a local organization feeding families in need. Carol Fowler says her daughter is handling the “called off wedding” well and is very happy that others had the opportunity to enjoy the food even if not for its intended purpose.

Mr. and Mrs. Fowler have started something here. The unplanned cancellation has started something on Saturday called the family’s first annual “Celebration of Love.” I love the thoughtfulness and can see many smiles in the future. Great job Carol and Willie!
